There is no doubt to anyone who knows horses or has experienced an equine-assisted counseling session how uniquely wonderful they can be for improving mental health. Nothing can beat the hands-on experience of working with horses to help us process and heal. However, caring for horses properly can be expensive. They require basic room and board, but they also require routine (and sometimes emergency) veterinary care, routine hoof care, maintenance of barn and fences, shampoo, brushes and combs, halters and leads, buckets, blankets, fly control, de-worming, etc. Donated funds may go toward any of these necessities, or other equipment like the riding helmets or bareback pads that we utilize in Rhythmic Riding®.
