As a writer, wellness coach, farm office manager, and Primary Response person for the Equine Cushings Group, I spend a lot of time on the computer all day. Since all this sitting is not very conducive to being healthy, I have been thinking about a treadmill workstation for my laptop for some time now, and I’m in the process of making one. I read a study about sedentary people and people who stood and made posture changes all day long, and standing really makes a difference in weight. They used treadmill workstations, and I think it’s a fabulous idea. Go here to see the study:

Obviously, I’m not the only one who thinks it’s a fabulous idea. I also found this desk that someone else built.

And they now have a laptop desk that attaches to your body so you can walk around with it and type: http://connect-a-desk.com/
I think any of these ideas is wonderful to get those of us who work at computers up and moving. I know I need to walk a lot more than I have been, especially over the winter, where walking outdoors is nearly impossible in my climate. Mutlitasking like this just might be the answer for me. Could it be the answer for you?
Be Well,
CLM
