I have always thought of Thanksgiving as a traditional harvest festival of European origin. I know that for Native Americans it can be a difficult time, and as a social scientist, is important to me to share accurate historical information as it applies to all cultures. In that vein, I want to share this article reprinted in Indian Country Today:
Do American Indians Celebrate Thanksgiving?
Hopefully you will find it enlightening. And with that I wish you a Happy Harvest Celebration!
Please check out the calendar of events for December 2014 and January 2015. I will be teaching Intro to Shamanism & Shamanic Healing once again, as well as a new Basic Shamanic Journeying course running in January and February. And don’t forget the new Dream Sharing Circle, which begins December 4th. Hope to see some of you there!
In the meantime, may you enjoy the approaching holiday season with mindfulness.
Blessings,
CLM
